The first in a series of ‘altered book’ community-created art installations in the Palmerston North Library made using faulty copies of our ‘Between Rivers’ Manawatū Book (NB: all copies of this book currently on sale online and in bookshops have been reprinted and are NOT faulty!):
A Huge Thanks to all Community Groups Who Helped us Make This! The last folded book went up on the wall on 17 September (we went a little faster than we planned thanks to all those nimble fingers we borrowed!) and the piece was officailly opened on Saturday 21 September.
What is it? A colourful and kinetic river of words and images (manipulated books) that wells up and flows downhill to discharge into the ground floor of the Sound & Vision space. It's a ‘Manawatū River’ of the imagination…
Concept & Installation by: Bettina Anderson, David Lupton, Aaron Roberts & Emmanuel Yiannoutsos.
